If you’re looking for another stunning apparatus that’s less of a shape-shifter, but still offers a fun challenge, you’ll love lyra aka aerial hoop. You’ll learn various ways to mount the lyra, as well as artistic poses. As you advance, you’ll learn twists, rolls and dynamic tricks. And though you don't have to spin, many of your skills will transform by adding a little (or a lot) of spin!
Sling is a pair of silks flipped upside down, creating a hammock. Similar to silks, it offers so many fun pathways and poses. You’ll learn everything from inversions and simple combos, to twists, drops, and spins. Check out the video to see some examples of our beginner, intermediate and advanced classes.
Want to get strong quickly? Rope might just be your apparatus! Learn efficient and graceful climbing techniques, wraps, inversions, and sequences. This class will surely develop your endurance. But it’s not your rope from gym class – these cotton canvas covered ropes are comfy yet still grippy enough to perform amazing skills and tricks! We offer both static trapeze (still, non-spinning) and dance trapeze (spinning). This classic apparatus is the one everyone knows when they think of the circus. Trapeze lets you explore endless shapes and combos hanging onto the bar, as well as wrapping in the ropes. And don’t worry - you won’t have to catch anyone! Here at Above Ground, we offer private parties that are perfect for birthdays, bachelorette, girls or guys night out, team bonding experiences, or for any other reason you can possibly think of! As well, we offer live professional performances! Find us at festivals like the Duluth Fall Festival, or book us for your next event! We'll add a thrilling element of entertainment!
