Hi, I'm Amanda Hamburger and Above Ground Aerial Art & Fitness, LLC, which was founded in 2016, is my business and my passion. I am a certified Aerial Silks Instructor. My certifications come from the Circus Arts Institute in Atlanta, Georgia, under the talented Carrie Heller. Circus Arts Institute is a reputable company and their training programs are NECCA recognized. I have a varied movement background in tumbling and several forms of dance (ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical, modern). I have several years of theatre/acting training which include some unique movement classes. As well, I've shared a love for music essentially all of my life and have played piano since I was 5.

I have a Bachelor's degree in Communication Studies from LSU (2010) and a Master's degree in Counseling from Southeastern LA University (2014). I love Jesus and I love people. I find that there is no greater joy than to truly know people on a deeper level and to guide them in knowing themselves deeply as well. I feel that my purpose is to know people, to come alongside them as they heal themselves, finding peace and enrichment in their lives. For me, aerial has helped me realize that I have more physical and psychological capacity than I ever realized. After several significant physical injuries, my body and health hit rock bottom roughly 5 years ago. A very accurate word you could have used to describe me then would have been 'fragile'. My physical and bodily condition continues to be a journey, and often a struggle. But with God, with motivation, with hope and with perseverance, my body and my mind continue to heal.
